Donald Barr, BA
My background is in business and economics having worked both in the City of London and in regional economic development in the South West. I am also qualified in advising social enterprises.
I first got involved with Sands when Joanna, the bursar at the time, asked me for some financial advice about staff pensions. From there it was a short step to becoming a school governor in 2005. In recent years I have become more and more involved and have taken up a number of administrative roles and currently work for the school three days a week.
I work alongside Peta on HR matters, the school finances, communications, marketing, legal matters and anything that needs a spreadsheet. I am also the exams officer and the clerk to the governors.
