Mark Gregory

Art Teacher

I have been involved in art education constantly. As well as co-organising and showing in exhibitions, workshops I have run for school and community groups include lantern making and giant-making for parades, and drawing and printmaking for a theatrical project. A public sculpture is underway at KEVICCS, involving drawing and metal workshops. I have also created several community public sculptures including the Pilgrim figure on Dartmouth seafront, in collaboration with the students of Dartmouth Academy. I have worked as an Illustrator and am a member of the British Artist Blacksmith Association..

I am Treasurer for his Community band, Cornish Groove Collective and I play various musical instruments.

I worked for many years in the Art department at Ivybridge Community College, successfully team teaching, joint moderating and writing schemes of work for students from the ages of 11 to 18. Before that, I taught in various schools in Devon, Dorset and Sussex. I have also been a self-employed artist since 1997. My skills cover sculpture in many materials and techniques from metal and wire through to cardboard and clay, painting in a wide range of approaches, contextual studies, mixed media, photography and textiles. Underpinning it all is drawing, which I have explored in a myriad of ways with my students.
