Jemma Inglis, SEND Administrator

I feel like I have come a full circle having recently moved back to Devon and now also working in Sands. As a 2nd generation Dartingtonian the Sands atmosphere instantly felt recognisable and comfortable. It feels similar but has also evolved. The same easy relationships between staff and students and with the young people’s well-being firmly at the top of the priority list.

I came to my Special Education Needs admin role through a parent route, learning how to support my child and navigate a very complicated and sometimes frustrating system.

Having gained a diploma in Autism Studies I was employed for several years in a small independent school in Exeter where I worked with the SENCO supporting young people with additional needs.

Martin Roberts (SEN Lead) and I work together with the added expertise of Susan Widlake, Jane Gibbs, and Emma Garner. My work is largely administrative liaising with parents, Devon Local Authority, and organising exam Access Arrangements amongst others.
