Co-founder and teacher of History, Sport, Psychology and Cooking
‘The best learning often feels like play.’
I have been teaching for over 35 years and still wake up each morning excited to get into the classroom. I have the privilege of teaching the Humanities and offer courses to GCSE in History and Psychology and teach a broad range of the Humanities to the rest of the school which can include anything from card games to murder mysteries, from beach cleaning to story writing. I also teach cooking and train students to cater for the school and for bigger events. This year my student cooks will training older students at Rekindle and The Awen Project to make breads, pasta sauces, pizza and a host of cooking basics as part of our outreach programme. This year I returned to the Sports Court as one of our sports teachers and now coach and play hockey, football, basketball and a host of fun running games to start our day. It has been 20 years since I last played this role and am loving it although my body may disagree.
