Finance Administrator
I graduated with a degree in Human Sciences from the University of Sussex and since then have worked in a variety of institutions big and small. I gravitated towards finance roles as I enjoy balancing a budget, but I’m also very much a people person and have always been intrigued by what makes people tick.
In 2009 I was lucky enough to have twins, who now attend Sands School. We moved from Kent, where I had been home educating the kids for many years. Mainstream school had never felt like a place where my kids could thrive, and I’d been looking for the right place for them as they got older and I felt like more independence was what they needed. Luckily for us all, having moved 200 miles has turned out to be a great decision. My children are thriving and I have been lucky enough to also be given the chance to join the amazing community that is Sands School.
My dad was a teacher, and I think that his educational philosophy has deeply affected the choices we’ve made as a family around education. I believe that the small scale of Sands, and the way that the staff and students interact as equals is so important for children to be able to thrive and explore who and what they want to be. From our first visit I was convinced that the Sands community was a very special place that we wanted to be a part of.
