Christmas Concert 2023

The creative arts are really important to us at Sands, not least because its one of the ways students get to express their individuality. The diversity of musical style and talent at last term’s Christmas Concert was no exception.
Big thanks to Georgia for supporting our amazing students and for making this happen and also to the parents for their generous donations enabling us to better kit out the music department.

Art frieze

These fabulous gargoyles and green men were made by our Y groups last year and now have pride of place outside of the Art Block.  Don’t they look fabulous?

Bronze DofE Expedition

Well done to all our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students who completed their expedition last week.  Big thanks to their families for all your support, it is very much appreciated.  We were very lucky with the weather, in fact it felt like a summer’s day on Friday, and enjoyed a great couple of days together, walking the Two Moors Way from Ivybridge to Wembury, with a well-deserved ice-cream in the sunshine at Wembury Beach to finish the trip. It was lovely to be with such positive, determined, fun young people and to see them looking out for each other in their teams – the singing was pretty good too and kept everyone’s spirit’s up, especially over the last few miles!

Freedom to Learn Forum 2023

Thank you to everyone that came to our lovely little festival. There was talking, sharing, playing, swimming, eating and an amazing amount of teamwork. Thank you to our team of over 30 volunteers for all your work. And to everyone that travelled so far to come and that shared their ideas and settings with us. And thank you to the Devon weather for being so glorious. It was a perfect weekend.
